Yeah… Always be closing. Blergh.
Not long ago, Lelo was acting all secretive about a new product for the penis packing folks of the world. Loose lips sinking ships and all, the product was leaked on several websites before it was announced to consumers.
What Is Lelo Pino?
It’s a cock ring and it’s available in black or “Federal Blue”. A cock ring that comes with silver cuff links and a money clip. I’m not reviewing the cuff links or money clip because I don’t think I’ll ever wear cuff links and I feel like money clips are for really pretentious folks.
The tagline for Pino is “always be closing”, like sex is always some sort of business transaction.
What Is Pino Made Of?
Snarkity snark snark snarrrrk snarkity snark snark snarky snark snark. Silicone and a little metal branding plaque. I just don’t understand why the branded badge was necessary.
Even more pretentious than the cuff links and money clip in my opinion. Do they expect folks to wear the cock ring and flash the little Lelo plaque and gain brand awareness?
Lelo Pino Features
The Pino by Lelo is USB rechargeable, waterproof (which I don’t understand, as the port is completely open), lockable (hold the + and – buttons until the charge light turns on and then off, hold again to unlock), and has a rather simple 2 button control scheme.
The + sign changes patterns/increases speed on the constant setting, the – goes back down through the patterns and turns the intensity down. Also, charge port. The two buttons help you move through the following 10 vibration settings:
Steady Vibration – Press the + button once to turn it on, then hold the button to turn the intensity up. Goes from barely noticeable up to a moderately rumbly steady vibration.
- Slow Pulse
- Fast Pulse
- Fastest Pulse
- Ramp Up & Drop
- Faster Ramp & Drop
- Ebb & Flow (Builds up and slows down over and over)
- Slow Ebb & Flow (longer build up and slow down)
- Ramp Up, Pulse Pulse
- I can’t even describe 10. It’s a funky pattern that seems to change just a bit each cycle. Maybe algorithm based? I have no idea.
Caring For Lelo Pino
Charging The Pino
To charge the Lelo Pino, you plug the white USB cord (I mention it being white because it makes no sense to me… The blowjob machine isn’t sold in white or any light color, the cord should be black) into an available, powered USB port and then plug the other end into the Pino. It’s not complicated at all! And then a little light on the positive side of the toy blinks to indicate it is charging.
I didn’t look to see what it does when it’s done charging, I just waited 4 or 5 hours and popped it off the charger. Two hours of charging time is supposed to get you two hours of play time, but I can’t say that I track my hours with chargeable toys.
Lube Compatibility:
Oil based lube is perfectly compatible with the Lelo Pino, but should be kept out of any vagina present. Water based lube is your safest bet though, as its fine vaginally and won’t interact with the silicone. If you absolutely must, you can spot check your favorite silicone lube and go from there. I did try Uberlube with my Pino and had no problems at all.
Storing The Lelo Pino
The Lelo Pino comes with a little black satin storage bag that’s the perfect size to keep the charger and ring in one place. One added benefit of the satin bag is that you aren’t going to have an issue with lint. Whether you choose to use the baggy or not, the Pino is small enough you’ll be able to store it just about anywhere.
Hands On With Pino
Just looking over the Pino, I was surprised to find out that the two pieces I assumed were designed for clitoral stimulation were squishy/hollow:
Both this part and the piece above the branding plate are super flexible/squishy.
It’s not something I necessarily see as bad, but I do wonder if vibrations would transfer to one’s partner better if these parts were solid silicone or even reinforced with ABS plastic inside.
The controls are almost too simple, in my opinion. Another button to change patterns and then the two that are already here would actually make using the Pino simpler. As it stands, I feel like in the heat of the moment it could be frustrating trying to switch from steady vibration to patterns and having to stop and fiddle with the + button for a few seconds just to get into patterns and then clicking through to the one you want.
One thing that I did find pleasing though is how stretchy the actual ring is… There is enough stretch that I can put it on comfortably without lube. Some other rings don’t have that give to them.
It’s stretchy, but I don’t think stretch enough for both cock and balls.
Cock On In With Lelo Pino:
Note: No clitoris was available for testing. Even if there were, the results with the Pino contacting that clitoris would be specific to only that clitoris and those spaced just like it and any information I conveyed would be hearsay. Therefore, there are no guarantees about the Pino contacting your partner’s clitoris.
Gettin’ down to business, I lay back in my bed and assumed the position. You don’t get to know which position because it’s private, but I will tell you that I looked lasciviously bacchanalian. Quickly, I set about pulling myself through the ring… First, I tried it with the “stimulator” portion on top of my shaft. It was okay… Not the best thing I’ve ever felt, but certainly pleasurable.
Flipping the ring over felt even better because the vibrations were hitting my scrotum, but still just felt mediocre. I flipped through the speeds and patterns and found that the only setting that did much for me was constant vibration at the highest intensity.
Then, on a whim, I turned the ring around with the vibrating stimulation head pointed towards my balls. When playing solo, I feel that the Pino is absolutely best used this way as the vibration to my testicles was wonderful. I still find myself reaching my Hot Octopus Pulse more often, but the Lelo Pino is a pleasant change once in a while.
Final Opinion Of The Lelo Pino
Material: Silicone
Power Type: USB Rechargeable
Price: $139.99
I’M PLEASED, BUT WISH THE VIBRATIONS WERE EVEN STRONGER!
Overall, the Lelo Pino is a pretty great cock ring. It’s certainly shaped different than anything I’ve tried in the past. I do feel like there is room for improvement (a few simple design changes, improved controls). For $139.99, I do think those new to cock rings should try some less expensive rings first.
