The Pulse is a new revolutionary blowjob masturbator on the market from Hot Octopuss, a British founded company. It can also be used as a couples toy for foreplay but has been dubbed as a ‘Guybrator’. I must admit, this toy is unlike any others I have seen in regards to it being hands free. It looks like something that could be found in a Marvel film, or perhaps I’ve just watched too many of those recently. I have images of Thor in my head now.
Packaging
The Pulse comes packaged in a sleek black box featuring an image of the toy and illustrations of how the Pulse can be used. The whole box has a tattoo art feel to it which I know will and does appeal to a lot of men. The toy itself sits inside within a plastic insert, with the USB charging lead and instructions.
Material
The Pulse is made of skin safe silicone and ABS plastic cover. The silicone is the type which picks up lint easily and drives me a little bit crazy. The toy has a fanatic shape and features a PulsePlate™ at the heart of it which has an indented crown design and three raised ridges below. On the outside ‘Hot Octopuss’ is raised on the right hand side wing of the toy and the plastic shell has seven ridges. You will need to use a water based lubricant with this toy to ensure the silicone does not damage if you choose to use a lubricant. It measures 4.5 inches in length, 2.5″ width and has a ‘one size fits all’ ethos.
Charging
The Pulse charges via a USB cable. A full charge takes 4 hours and provides 2 hours of play. When charging a red light will show above the charging point at the base of the toy. When it is fully charged it turns to green. Always a helpful feature so you can easily see when the toy is charged. The small silicone cover for the charging port is a bit weak and easy to accidentally unattach.
Lock
The Pulse does not have a travel lock feature, I hope to see this in further developments as it does turn on easily. The box however despite its size is good for travel and storage as it prevents the toy from turning on or catching the buttons.
Functions
To turn the Pulse on, press the + button on the side, to turn off hold down the – button for a few seconds. The Pulse has nine vibration modes which you can gradually increase/decrease using the + and – buttons which are situated on the side of the toy and light up slightly blue when the Pulse is turned on. You will need to take note of which side is on before you place the toy around your penis as they can be difficult to see when it is in place. Nothing worse than when you just need a little more vibration to get over the edge and then you push the wrong button! The vibrations on the toy are very strong for the penis so the higher modes six to nine may be a bit too much for some.
Cleaning
The Pulse is not waterproof so be sure to keep it well away from liquids. To clean, wipe it with a wet wipe and dry.
In Use
The Pulse is designed to be hands free but of course can also be used with hands. It has two flexible ‘wings’ which wrap around the cock to help keep it in place. This toy can be used flaccidly which is great as sometimes with new toys which look a bit daunting it can be tricky for some to try and get an erection in the first place.
The PulsePlate™, which is based on medical research, oscillates strong vibrations which stimulate the man’s frenulum and can create an erection within seconds, it’s really that good.
